What motivated you to look at private medical insurance?

Primarily we wanted our team to feel supported with both their emotional and physical wellbeing, and have the  option to also cover their families should they wish to. We feel it is important that they can access fast support should the need arise, in order for them to feel valued by us and not to have to wait in ever increasing waiting lists on the NHS.

We hope that this demonstrates both our commitment to our team and to our clients in ensuring that our service delivery standards are high, and our team are motivated and supported.

Why did you choose to work with Coralline Health and WPA?

Our director, Emma, met Amy from Coralline Health some time ago through local networking events, and what struck her was Amy’s genuine motivation to support people with their health, by promoting fast access to health care when needed. Emma felt that our team would be well supported by Amy in a pro-active manner, which is exactly what has happened in practice, with Amy only ever being a phone call away to provide help using the scheme, and providing employee information webinars.

WPA being a not for profit organisation was also appealing to us, as we felt positive that the profit on our employee healthcare would be going towards the benefit of the community. Amy has supported grants for sports equipment for both a local youth netball club Emma has been involved in and also a local secondary school, so we have seen first hand the impact Coralline Health has had in our local community and their access to sport.

What advice would you give to other businesses looking at private medical benefits for their team?

Private medical can help to ensure that your employee’s feel valued and that their personal health is of importance to the company they work for. You can choose to add in cash back plans which can also assist employee’s with regular family expenses such as dentistry, prescriptions, opticians, physiotherapy, which we have found increases the personal benefit perception to the employee.

In addition it can help to reduce absence levels, attract and retain talent, demonstrate investment in employees, and enhance an overall benefits package. In a changing business landscape where the cost of sickness to the employer is rising this can help to limit the impact on a business, and keep high client service levels.

What motivated you to look at health insurance?

As business owners, Ian, Troy and I understand how important our health is to both our families and the businesses we support. Running a growing company means there is never really a convenient time to be unwell or waiting for treatment. We wanted the reassurance that, if needed, we could access healthcare quickly and focus on recovery rather than long waiting times.

Why did you choose to work with Coralline Health and WPA?

Coralline Health made the whole process straightforward and took the time to understand our needs rather than offering a one-size-fits-all solution. Their advice was clear, honest, and focused on finding the right cover for us. WPA’s reputation, flexibility, and customer-focused approach stood out, giving us confidence that we would receive a high level of service when we needed it most.

What advice would you give to other businesses looking at health insurance benefits for their team?

Don’t wait until you need it to start looking at it. Health insurance is one of those investments that you hope you never have to use, but when you do, it can make a huge difference. Speak with a trusted adviser who can explain the options available and help you find a solution that suits your business and budget. For us, it wasn’t just about healthcare cover, it was about having peace of mind and protecting the people who help drive the business forward.

What motivated you to look at private medical insurance?

We like to look after our team as best we can, and we felt private medical insurance could meaningfully reflect this. Also, if a team member can access prompt medical support, they may heal more quickly. This is great for the individual, the team, and the business as a whole.

Why did you choose to work with Coralline Health and WPA?

We were inspired to work with Coralline Health and WPA by another small business we work with. Amy came highly recommended and we love a recommendation!

What advice would you give to other businesses looking at private medical benefits for their team?

Go for it! You’re supporting your team who in turn are able to look after your business.

What motivated you to introduce an Employee Assistance Programme and health cash plan for your employees?

Supporting the wellbeing of our people is a key part of our People and Culture strategy. We want colleagues to feel supported both personally and professionally, and our Employee Assistance Programme and health cash plan are an important part of the wider wellbeing support we provide. Together, they offer practical, accessible support that employees can use whenever they need it, helping them to look after both their physical and mental wellbeing.

Why did you choose to work with Coralline Health and WPA?

Although these arrangements were established before I joined the Sanctuary, we have continued to work with Coralline Health and WPA because they provide a reliable, accessible service that aligns with our commitment to supporting employee wellbeing. They have been easy to work with and provide practical support that our colleagues can access with confidence.

What advice would you give to other organisations considering employee wellbeing benefits?

Look for benefits that your employees will genuinely use and appreciate. Wellbeing isn’t about having lots of different initiatives; it’s about providing support that is accessible, relevant and easy to understand. An Employee Assistance Programme and health cash plan can offer practical help with everyday healthcare costs and access to wellbeing support, making a positive difference to both employees and the organisation.

What motivated you to look at private medical insurance?

As a B Corporation, we’re held to high standards around how we look after our people. Wellbeing isn’t a perk for us, it’s part of how we operate. Private medical insurance is a natural extension of that. Private medical gives the team fast access to care when they need it, and peace of mind for the rest of the time. That matters.

Why did you choose to work with Coraline Health and WPA?

With Coralline, it came down to trust. I’d come across Amy through networking events and could see she ran her business the same way I try to run mine: with care, with clarity, and with a genuine interest in doing right by her clients. With WPA, it was values. A local company, with strong environmental and people-focused values that align closely with our own. They are also a client of ours, which made the partnership feel right on both sides.

What advice would you give to other businesses looking at private medical benefits for their team?

Don’t overthink it. The cost is small relative to the value it delivers, both in terms of how it supports your team and what it says about how you treat your people. For a small business, it’s one of the most tangible ways to show your team that their wellbeing matters. It’s also something prospective hires increasingly look for. We’ve found it pays back in ways you don’t immediately measure. In retention. In trust. In the conversations it opens up with the team about how we’re looking after each other. Worth doing properly
